H I G H L I G H T S

Farewell to the 2024-25 batch
Farewell was organized for the outgoing students of 10th Std on 7th Feb 2025. Smt. Devika B Swamy, Principal, KCS, graced the occasion. The teachers bid adieu with a heavy heart to the outgoing students. On their part, the outgoing students spoke highly of the contribution made by the school to their overall growth. They also promised to perform well in the forthcoming 10th Std CBSE Examination.

Republic Day Celebration
Republic Day was celebrated in our school on 26th January 2025. Sri P K Thipperudrappa, President, KVS hoisted the National Flag all the office bearers of KVS graced the occasion. The most significant aspect of the programme was that the teachers and the students from all the institutions under KVS took part in the programme. Dance programmes and March Past took place on the occasion. It was a huge celebration.

Counselling session for Teachers
A counselling session was held in our school on 7th January 2024. All the teachers in the school attended the counselling session. Dr. M Sreedara Murthy, a renowned psychologist was the resource person and the counsellor. It was an interactive session and the teachers were told to be more tolerant towards children. Positive pressure could be exerted on the children to make them more competent the students should never feel threatened in the classroom. Learning takes place every moment and the teachers should never consider the examination and performance of the students to be the result. Teachers felt happy interacting with the resource person and the counsellor addressed many of their concerns during the session.

Counselling session for Students
A counselling session was held in our school to make the children confident while facing examinations. The students were asked not to adopt the rote method of learning. They sleep well and have more fruits and vegetables every day. Curiosity is essential for the students and they need not be under pressure to score more marks. He advised them to keep away from mobile phones and asked them to read more books. The children interacted with him a good rapport was built between the resource person and the students during the session.

Counselling session for Parents
A counselling session was organized in our school on 7th January 2024. Dr M Sreedhara Murthy, a Renowned Psychologist and well-known counselor was the resource person. Around 100 parents attended the session. It was an interactive session where the parents aired their concerns regarding what the ideal parent behavior should be and how to handle adolescent children. Dr. M Sreedhara Murthy advised the parents not to exert too much pressure on the students. He told them to look up on children endowed with talent and that they have the potential to make things happen in life. He also advised them not to draw compressions among children. Everyone is unique and the parent should have tremendous faith in their children. He gave them tips on how to handle pressure and made the parents realize that an open-ended approach should be adopted by the parents.

Mathematics Day
Mathematics Day was celebrated in the school on 22nd December 2024. Mathematics teachers explained the significance of the day to the students. 7th std students came up with dance programme and 2nd std students came up with skit on the occasion.

Annual Day Celebration
Annual Day Celebration The annual Day Celebration was organized on 24th December 2024 in Kalpataru grounds, Tiptur. Srimat. Mangalanathanandaji Maharaj, President, Ramakrishna Mutt, Badarikasrama, Madihalli, Turvekere was kind enough to grace the occasion with his divine presence. The chief guest of the celebration was Sri. K Shadakshari, MLA, Tiptur. Sri. P K Thipperudrappa, President, KVS presided over the programme. Smt. Sapthashree B.K. KAS, Assistant Commissioner, Tiptur, Sri. Pavan Kumar S KAS, Tahsildar, Tiptur, and Sri. Chandraiah. G, KES, BEO, and Tiptur were the special invitees. The Office Bearers of KVS, Sri. B S Umesh, Sri. Bagepalli Nataraju, Sri. T S Basavaraju and Sri. G P Deepak, Vice-Presidents, Sri. M R Sangamesh, Sri. T U Jagadeesh Murthy, Sri. G S Umashankar and Sri. H G Sudhakar, Secretaries, KVS and Sri. T S Shivaprasad, Treasurer, KVS graced the occasion. Smt. Devika B Swamy, Principal, KCS read out the Annual Report 2024-25. Cultural programmes were given by the students of KCS from grade 1 to grade 10. The Annual Day Celebration was organized on a grand scale and thousands of parents and other citizens of Tiptur watched the programme with admiration and enthusiasm.

Co-curricular Activities
Co-curricular Activities Students are encouraged to participate in various competitions like drawing, painting, clay modeling, singing and essay writing organised by various institutions. Our students have participated in these competitions bagging prizes, and bringing laurels to the school.

Excursion for 8th & 9th Standard students
Excursion 8th & 9th Std students were taken on a one-day excursion on 17th January 2025, to Mangalore where the students enjoyed to their full.

Regional and National Festival Celebrations
Various regional and national festivals are celebrated in school with gusto. The significance of these festivals is explained to the students.

Study Tour to Master Control Facility (MCF), Hassan.
On 16th December 2024, the students of grade 8 were taken to Master Control Facility (MCF), Hassan.

Creative Memory Management Workshop
Mr S Prashanth, a popular trainer and national record holder conducted a Creative Memory Management Workshop on 12th December for students of grades 6 to 10.

One-day Excursion to Madikeri
On 7th December 2024, they were taken on a one-day excursion to Madikeri where the students enjoyed to their full.

SEWA
Students of grade 10 were taken to Sri Siddarameshwara Residential School for the Deaf, near Halguna, under the SEWA project.

Grand Finale of Spell Bee
The Grand Finale of Spell Bee Season – 4 was held on 27th November 2024 for the middle school level.

Talk from Dr Radhika, Tiptur Taluk Health Officer
Dr Radhika, Tiptur Taluk Health Officer, gave a talk to the high school students about ‘Health and Hygiene Awareness for Adolescent Girls’ on 23rd November 2024.

Makkala Sahithya Sammelana
“Makkala Sahithya Sammelana” was organized by The Department of Education and Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishath in Kalpataru Auditorium on 16th November 2024. The highlight of the programme was Charitha S Suja from grade 8 was the president of “Makkala Sahithya Sammelana” and Varsha K from grade 9, was the president of “ Kannada Kavi Gosti”. Likitha S N from grade 10 compered the programme and Harshil S Hadimani from grade 9 proposed the vote of thanks on the occasion.

Inner-Wheel Bangalore
On 14th November 2024, ‘Inner-Wheel’, Bangalore in collaboration with Sathya Ganapati Seva Trust, organized a folk dance competition on account of Children’s Day. High school students bagged the 3rd place in the competition.

IEO, IMO, NSO and GK exams
IEO, IMO, NSO and GK exams are conducted every year in our school.

English Debate Championship
On 5th November 2024, the Grand Finale Of The English Debate Championship (Season 8) was conducted. The winning team and runners-up were presented with the Rolling Trophy.

Online Skill-Based Education
On 28th October 2024, our school launched Online Skill-Based Education for students from Grade 5 to 10 in collaboration with Ulipsu, the Global Interactive Learning Platform.

State-level Abacus competition
The State-level Abacus competition was organized by Ideal Play Abacus India Pvt.Ltd on 27th October 2024 in Chitradurga. 35 students from our school participated in the event and won many prizes.

Bi-Annual News Letter
The school's Bi-Annual News Letter was launched on October 1st 2024. Dasara festival too was celebrated with great fervor.

Clean India Mission Week
During ‘Clean India Mission Week’, students of Grade 10 cleaned the school campus under SEWA. An Essay and a Drawing Competition were conducted for the high school students on account of Gandhi Jayanthi and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Birthday on 30th September 2024.

Eldrok India K-12 Expo
We feel very proud to share that our school is recognized as one of the best schools among 7000 CBSE schools and was awarded by Eldrok India K-12 Expo on 25th September 2024.

CBSE Cluster VIII
Our students took part in the CBSE Cluster VIII Volleyball, Football, Kho-Kho, Taekwondo and theSouth Zone Chess Championship. In Taekwondo, Jeevan M U from Grade 8 won the silver medal under 14 category and participated in the National Level. Shreya G Raju from Grade 7 won the Bronze medal.

Inter-school Kannada Debate Competition
The Inter-school Kannada Debate Competition was organized on 14th September 2024. Students from different schools in Tiptur took part in the competition. Our school students bagged first place. On the same day, Hindi Diwas was also celebrated.

Language Club activities
Under the Language Club, activities like drama and essay writing competition in English were conducted for Grades 9 and 10 on 13th September 2024.

Essay Writing and Written Quiz Competition
Our students have won the first place in Essay Writing and 2nd place in the Written Quiz Competition held on 4th September in the LIC Office, Tiptur.

Eye Check-up Camp
On the 2nd and 3rd of September, an eye-checkup camp was organized by the Rotary Club in collaboration with Sai Eye Care, Tiptur.

Career Guidance
On 30th August 2024, a session on ‘Career Guidance’ was conducted for the students of grade 10 by Dr. Huda Shariff, Consultant Physiotherapist is also an alumnus of KCS.

National Sports Day celebration
National Sports Day was celebrated on 29th August 2024.

Independence Day celebration
Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2024 grandly on Kalpataru Grounds along with all the institutions of KVS. Our school bagged 1st prize in the Dance competition and March-past held for all the children from different schools in Tiptur in Kalpataru Stadium.

SAFAL Online Examination
Our school is one of the short listed schools to participate in the SAFAL Online Examination conducted by CBSE for 5th and 8th graders of 2023-24.

Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration
Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated on 26th July 2024. Subedar Krishna, who is serving Indian Army was the chief guest of the day. The day began with a patriotic song. The guest addressed the students and motivated and inspired them to join the army.

Guru Purnima celebration
Guru Purnima was celebrated on 22nd July 2024. Sri K R Basavaraj retired Principal, of PAAC college was the chief guest. Sri M R Sangamesh, Secretary, KVS, Sri Bagepalli Nataraj, Vice-President, KVS were present on the occasion. The chief guest addressed the students highlighting the values of education.

Workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & Coding
A workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & Coding for high school students was conducted on 16th July 2024. The resource person for the day was Mr. Mrinal Jyothi Hira.

Doctors’ Day Celebration
Doctors’ Day was celebrated on 5thJuly 2024. Dr. Hithesh, Alumnus of KCS addressed the gathering.

Dance Competition
House-Wise dance competition was conducted on 22nd June, 2024. Sri Bagepalli Nataraj, The Vice-President, KVS was present. Smt Sowmya Srikant was the guest for the day and also the judge on the occasion.



Father’s Day & Bakrid Celebration
Father’s Day & Bakrid festival were celebrated in the morning assembly on 18th June 2024.




International Yoga and World Music Day
International Yoga and World Music Day was celebrated on 21st June 2024. Guests of the day were Smt. Hema Umakanth & Smt Sudha Pai. Sri Bagepalli Nataraj, The Vice-President, KVS was present on the occasion. Students demonstrated yogaasanas. Guests made the students sing bhajans. House -Wise song competition was conducted and a Grade 4 student played Veena & won appreciation.

Parent–Teacher Meet
Parent–Teacher Meet was conducted for the parents of 9th& 10thStd students in the Kalpataru Auditorium on 14th June, 2024. An orientation programme for the parents was organized. Smt. Prema Nandini was the Chief Guest andthe resource person on the occasion.


Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture Ceremony was held in the morning assembly on 12th June 2024. The student-office bearers were administered the oath by the Principal. Sri M R Sangamesh, The Secretary, KVS, Sri Bagepalli Nataraj, The Vice-President, KVS and Sri T S Shivaprasad, The Treasurer, KVS graced the occasion. Students from High School performed Bharathanatyam on the occasion.

Talent Day
Talent Day for Grade 1 was organized on 8th June, 2024. Children showcased the fancy dress and exhibited their talent.




Orientation Programme
There was an orientation programme held for the parents of 1st std students on 7th June 2024. The principal addressed the parents and gave details about the school’s rules and regulations to be followed by the parents. All the teachers of 1st std (Subject teachers) introduced themselves. All the doubts and queries from the parents’ end were answered by the Principal.

World Environment Day Celebration
World Environment Day was celebrated on 4th June 2024. Sri Madhu, RFO, Tiptur was the Chief Guest of the day. Sri M R Sangamesh, The Secretary, KVS, Vice-Presidents, KVS, Sri Bagepalli Nataraj and Sri B S Umesh, along with the Principal Smt. Devika B Swamy were present on the occasion. The dignitaries planted saplings. On the same day, Grade 10 students were taken on a Study tour to Aralaguppe, Chaudlapura Reserve Forest to plant the saplings. Scouts, who had achieved in the Rajyapuraskar Exam were honoured by the dignitaries.

The school election
The school election was conducted on 4th June 2024 for the posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl, The Cultural Secretary, The Sports Secretary, The Health and Hygiene Secretary and other Office Bearers. Students from Grade 6 to 10 casted their votes.


The school re-open
The school re-opened for all the students from Grade 1 to 10 on 27th May 2024. Children were welcomed by Sri M R Sangamesh, The Secretary, KVS, Sri Bagepalli Nataraj, The Vice–President, KVS along with the Principal and the teachers. The assembly was hosted by Advaith House. 1st std students were handed gifts as a token of affection with good thoughts inscribed on them.

Workshop on Critical and Creative Thinking
The workshop for the teachers was conducted on 23rd& 24th May 2024 on the theme ‘Critical and Creative Thinking. Resource Persons were Dr. Malini Mandhata Dutta, Principal, BGS, Bengaluru and Smt. Manjula A, Principal, Bhavan Bangalore Press School, Bengaluru.


New academic year 2024-25
The new academic year 2024-25 commenced for the teachers on May 20th 2024. Inauguration took place and Sri M R Sangamesh, The Secretary, KVS, Sri Bagepalli Nataraj, TheVice–President, KVS and Sri B S Umesh, The Vice–President, KVS graced the occasion. The invocation was done by the teaching staff. Smt. Devika B Swamy, the Principal, KCS read out the Code of Conduct and also the rules and regulations mentioned in the teachers' manual.

I derive immense pleasure to talk about our school. We are very proud of the fact that Kalpataru Central School has a spacious building, fully-functional laboratories, and a very good library with thousands of volumes of books, a vast playground, and a very well trained and resourceful faculty. The Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe(R), Tiptur was established in the year 1962, with a cherished desire of catering to the needs of the lerners of learning in and around Tiptur. It is the product of the Vision and dynamism of its founding Principal Shri. J. R. Mahalingaiah and the altruistic and munificent donations from the renowned Philanthropists like Shri. Pallagatti Adavappa the founding President of the Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe.

Kalpataru College, which came to light in 1962 with a meager strength of 277 students went on growing from strength to strength until 1982 when it got bifurcated into Kalpataru Science College and Pallagatti Adavappa Arts and Commerce College, for conveniences of administration.
