Pranav Bellur - Flying Officer - The Indian Air Force

They say that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
For me, that first step has always been my school for which I’m eternally grateful.
I take immense pride to have been part of this esteemed institution .
The discipline, knowledge and confidence that I gained here has continued to guide me in every step of life.
My heartfelt gratitude to all my teachers for imparting such good knowledge and values which is the core of any individual.

Harshith - COMMERCIAL PILOT - Avconjet - South Africa

Flying on the blue horizon in the Rainbow nation - South Africa’s Grand Central Airport, I was instructing my student to fly multi-engine aircraft on a bright sunny day. The weather was quite pleasant, and the sky embedded with some cottony clouds...
My mind was going through a wave of emotions and my visit to India. All of a sudden, the person that came to my mind was Mrs. Devika ma’am whom I had an interaction over the phone, during my visit to India last year December…
Devika Ma’am – Hello Harshith. How are you?
Me – I am fine, thank you. How are you Ma’am?
Devika Ma’am - A gap of so many years, you are now in my contact…
Me – Oh! Yes Ma’am…
Devika Ma’am – How have you been and what have you been up to?
Me – I am a Flight instructor and examiner in South Africa.
Devika Ma’am – Oh good! What made you go there and pursue this career?
Being in the first batch of CBSE at Kalpataru Central School, I had extremely good relations with the principal and teachers then. I learnt a lot at the school. It instilled confidence in me. I express gratitude to my school. I owe a lot to the school for offering me a strong foundational course.
Later, I did not want to pursue the usual course in engineering or medicine. My search went on to grab an alternate career option. I made up my mind to become a ‘COMMERCIAL PILOT’.
South Africa, being one of the best training providers for Pilots was my target. Travelled to Nelspruit for my PPL (Private Pilots License) and then made my way to Grand Central Airport, Johannesburg for my advanced training and CPL (Commercial Pilots License). Turned it up a notch with Instructors Rating and Examiners licenses.
After a tenure of about 7 years of Instruction, I am now with Avconjet Africa and have several aircraft ratings marked in my License with over 7000 hours of flying…
Next in my way is ‘Mission India.’ I will share my successful story next-
Always remember – Dream Big and Fly High !!!

Nischitha T Y -Sub Lieutenant - The Indian Navy

I am highly thankful to my alma mater, Kalpataru Central School - my nurturer, my haven, a place I called my own for a decade, my school.
As far as I am concerned, I can very humbly say, I am what I am today because of my schooling. I am now a part of one of the elite defence systems of our country - The Indian Navy. The credit goes to my school, a place where we were allowed to dream, think out of the box and given freedom to explore our interests.
I realised the true meaning of having a great formative education during the journey I took to become an officer. One has to go through a plethora of exams and attend what's called a SSB interview- which is a 5-day overall personality test to determine one's officer like quality.
My grip on my language, my analytical thinking, my ability to work in a group and express my ideas to a large audience with the utmost precision and conviction and well, the infinite amount of confidence I had during the gruesome interview -all these attributes helped me succeed.
Where did I develop all these qualities from? - My School. This was a result of the years spent in this elite institution, which moulded me to become a complete individual.
What a marvellous journey it was at Kalpataru Central School - transforming me from a tiny tot to a naughty and inquisitive child to a gregarious teen and finally passing out as a relatively mature adolescent.
Be it in terms of sports, music, art, culture, public speaking, debates, declamation, worldly knowledge or just plain old algebra- I have a working knowledge of all these things and for this I am forever indebted to the amazing teachers at this institute.
I take immense pleasure in paying rich tributes to Kalpataru Central School and Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe which is incidentally celebrating Diamond Jubilee this year.

Yashwanth Lokesh
Batch: 2014 (2004-2014)

School is where dreams take root, and for me, KCS was the perfect beginning.
Though located in a small town, it met exemplary standards, offering us opportunities in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities.
We were encouraged to compete, learn, and grow beyond classrooms. The dedicated teachers built a strong foundation, shaping not only our knowledge but also our character.
Looking back, KCS played a vital role in my journey, giving me lifelong friends and invaluable experiences.
I feel immense pride seeing how far the school has come, and I never miss a chance to visit and relive those cherished memories.

Dr. Nagarjun B Gowda -IAS Batch of 2019

It brings great pleasure to me to know that Kalpataru Vidya Samsthe is celebrating its Diamond jubilee this year. I am forever indebted to the institute where my father served for more than 25 years and I did my schooling from 2003 – 2005 . I being one of the first batch students of Kalpataru central school thank the institute for chiseling a better student out of me. KCS has helped immensely in raising my standards of education and overall development as a person. Thanks to the visionary leadership of the samsthe that, In a small town like Tiptur I could get education of higher standards which prepared me to face the challenges of competitive education which followed. I wish the institute that it shall grow further and help the region and its people in their development story.

IAS Batch of 2019

Pragathi M S

As I write this letter, my heart is filled with gratitude and warm memories. It feels just like yesterday that I walked through your corridors as a student, unaware of how deeply those years would shape my life. I joined Kalpataru Central School in my early years, guided by a simple childhood belief that this was a place where I could grow and learn better. Over time, the school became my second home. Every classroom, assembly, cultural program, and school day quietly built the foundation of who I am today.
Kalpataru Institutions have always been close to my heart. My grandfather, Sri M. R. Ramanna, as the founder secretary, laid the vision of education rooted in values and discipline. My father, Sri M. R. Sangamesh, continues this responsibility as the current secretary, nurturing the institution with dedication. Growing up within this environment taught me respect for education, responsibility, and service. I remain deeply grateful to my teachers, who guided me with patience, encouragement, and high expectations, and to my friends, who filled my school days with laughter, support, and unforgettable moments. Their presence made Kalpataru not just a place of learning, but a community that nurtured me.
One of my most cherished experiences was serving as the School Head Girl during my final year. That role taught me leadership, teamwork, humility, and accountability—lessons that extended far beyond textbooks. I passed out in 2013, proudly carrying your values as I stepped into the next phase of life. My journey after school took me to Bengaluru and later to Davangere, where I pursued dentistry and completed my Master’s in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. I was honoured to secure the State University First Rank and receive the Gold Medal from the Hon’ble Governor, Shri Gehlot. Today, I am pursuing a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery under Dr. Sunil Richardson at Richardson’s Face Hospitals.
No matter where life has taken me, I carry Kalpataru Central School with me—in my values, my discipline, and my approach to learning and leadership. I remain deeply proud of my roots in Tiptur and of the school that believed in me and shaped me so gently. With heartfelt gratitude and warm regards, I look forward to giving back to the institution that gave me so much.
